French container shipping line CMA CGM is preparing to take delivery of its latest 13,830-TEU ship, the CMA CGM Laperouse. She follows the CMA CGM Corte Real that was delivered in August. The mega ship is the fourth in a series of eight same size vessels ordered from Daewoo (DSME) in July 2007, reports Alphaliner.
“The ship was originally planned to be delivered last January, but its commissioning was delayed due to funding issues,” it said. The CMA CGM Laperouse will be deployed on the carrier’s new Far East-Europe loop (FAL 5/AE-8) that it jointly runs with Maersk Line.
