There has been a breakthrough Thursday afternoon in the icy mediation talks between striking wharfies and the Ports of Auckland.
Union workers have been on strike for a week – the first week of a three-week strike they have planned – which is causing huge disruption at the port.
Mediation talks resumed this afternoon and Garry Parsloe from the Maritime Union of New Zealand said it was “the best mediation session we’ve had so far.”
