Wharf workers who’ll vote to prematurely end their strike in a pay dispute with stevedore Patrick say the ball is now in their employer’s court.
Wharfies at major ports in Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle are due to drop their work restrictions on Friday after Patrick responded by blocking their access and then denying them pay.
“It was a bit like hitting them with a feather duster, and then having Patrick respond with a sledge hammer,” Maritime Union of Australia assistant secretary Ian Bray told AAP.
