Subarus arrive at Vancouver's Terminal 4

Subaru announced plans late Thursday to move into a new $20 million auto parts warehouse and West Coast distribution center in the Rivergate industrial park of North Portland in October.

At 413,700 square feet, the new structure will be more than twice the size of Subaru’s existing facility [in Northeast Portland]. It will house Subaru’s regional headquarters and a service training center in addition to the parts warehouse, said Josh Thomas, spokesman for the Port of Portland.

Subaru ships new cars into the Port of Vancouver. But Vancouver apparently was never in the running for the new distribution center. … Neither Port officials nor real estate types involved in the deal said they knew of Subaru’s employment plans.
