Union Pacific, which has shown interest in the past in building the all-important rail link between the Punta Colonet mega-port and the U.S. (Arizona or New Mexico) … reported that its rail traffic was down 15% in the third quarter from the corresponding period of 2008. Union Pacific also said it will delay several construction projects designed to increase the company’s freight-moving capacity on its main line across southern Arizona and New Mexico. The Nebraska-based company expects the projects to go forward again when the economy turns around.
