New Zealand’s Port Otago expects further delays to container shipping from tomorrow as port workers continue their dispute over new shift arrangements. Workers began a “go-slow” policy last week which delayed the sailing of Maersk Dunafare and also resulted in the closure of the South Island port last weekend. … The Maritime Union of New Zealand last week denied having organised or authorised the industrial action. … Port Otago has reportedly flagged the loss of up to 35 staff in the wake of a 15% drop in container volumes.
