Melbourne wharfies are expected to conduct further meetings after calling off planned industrial action that would have shut down half of the Port of Melbourne for 48 hours from last night.
The Maritime Union says the stoppage was called off after workers accepted an in-principle agreement for a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, with DP World Australia confirming the news, saying there have been constructive talks with the union, opening the way for a settlement.
