The chairman of one of the world’s largest agricultural processing and trading companies said Thursday that while he doubts Russia will be a big buyer of U.S. corn, China will be a larger factor in American grain markets.
While China is the largest single customer of American soybeans, it bought small quantities of American corn this year for the first time in almost a decade. Market watchers have speculated China will buy more to feed not only its huge population but also its 450 million hogs.
