Stronger-than-projected grain exports have fueled another healthy first quarter at the Port of Longview, despite trade tensions between the U.S. and China.
Grain shipments from EGT in the first quarter have already reached 34 percent of the port’s annual projection, indicating the port is well on its way to eclipsing last year’s record-setting numbers.
Overall, the port’s tenants exported 2.9 million tons in the first quarter of the year — a 10 percent increase from last year.
