From the Daily Breeze:

Vilma Martinez, a former U.S. ambassador under Barack Obama who was appointed to the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners in 2013 and currently serves as president, announced Thursday she would step down from her position.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti named Jaime L. Lee to fill the vacancy on the five-member panel.

Lee, a Los Angeles native, has been board president and a commissioner on the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System Board of Administration for the past four years. Lee’s appointment must first be confirmed by the City Council in the coming weeks.
