The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announced on Sunday the collapse of a section of the Miraflores Locks on the Pacific side, without causing disruptions or damages the functioning of the track.
It is the collapse of a “spoiler” of the structure of the lock in its southeast region, an accident that occurred early Sunday morning and is already being served by professionals in the ACP, as indicated by the company in an official statement.
“Transit operations and lockages are developing normally,” said the administrator of the Canal.
Meanwhile, the administrator of the ACP, Jorge Luis Quijano, posted on his Twitter account. “Important: navigation and transit through the Canal is normal; area affected will be repaired promptly.”
