Cargo volumes recorded at the Port of Long Beach in 2015 exceeded 7 million container units for the first time since the start of the Great Recession, statistics released Thursday show.
The Long Beach port’s cargo volumes last topped the 7 million level in 2007. In 2015, the Port of Long Beach recorded a total cargo volume of nearly 7.2 million standard container units. The final total signified a 5 percent increase above 2014’s totals and was the third greatest volume ever recorded at the Long Beach port.
