International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) plans to widen its presence in Africa, as it bids for the privatization of ports in Cameroon and Kenya, its chief said.

“We participated in bid for Cameroon, [but] we still don’t know the results. There’s also this one thing big coming up in Kenya, Mombasa. Those two are both in Africa on the east,” Enrique K. Razon, Jr., chairman and president of ICTSI, told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Pasay City.

ICTSI entered the African market in 2005 with the Madagascar International Container Terminal. It also operates a terminal in Matadi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Lekki International Container Terminal, Nigeria, which has a capacity of 2.5 million containers.
