Continuing declines in bunker fuel prices have prompted Matson to again lower its fuel surcharge, by 7 percentage points, for its Hawaii, Guam-Northern Marianas and Micronesia services.
The reductions will take effect on Feb. 15, Matson stated.
The reduction represents a savings in shipping costs ranging from $140 to $245 per container, said Dave Hoppes, senior vice president for Matson’s ocean services.
