On January 8, Indian dockworkers observed Massive Protest Day in all 12 major ports. More than 30,000 dockers in all over India participated and staged massive protest “Dharana” in front of their respective ports.
Under the guidance of Com. S.R. Kulkarni, President of the Transport & Dock Workers’ Union, Mumbai & Com. S.K. Shetye, Mbpt Employees General Workers’ Union, Com. Kersi Parekh & Com. Sudhakar Apraj, Labour Trustees, Mbpt and three other recognized unions of Mumbai port staged a massive protest in front of Mumbai Port Trust’s Administration Building.
