Crews were back at the scene of a grain elevator explosion Saturday after fire reportedly rekindled inside the structure.The explosion happened Friday afternoon at the Bunge North America facility. The facility supplies resources to livestock, poultry and food service industries.
When authorities arrived to the facility on Saturday, they found smoke coming form the rail pit that runs under the elevator. Due to the extreme heat and humidity, crews had rotate between 12 companies contain the fire again, according to officials.
The explosion on Friday blew out the grain elevator’s windows and was felt hundreds of yards away by employees in nearby businesses.
All employees were safely evacuated and accounted for, according to a company spokesperson.
