The Port of Astoria has named an executive from Washington state as its fifth leader in less than three years.
The Daily Astorian reports Jim Knight has been director of the Port of Olympia marine terminal since July 2013.
Knight was chosen Tuesday to succeed Hank Bynaker, who resigned Sept. 11 after 14 months as the port’s last hired executive director.
The paper reports that emotional disagreements among board members have been a factor in the succession of directors.
