At the Board of Harbor Commissioners meeting, Vice President Thomas Fields made the case for a San Pedro Bay Maritime Industry Cluster, which would group trade-related businesses and associations close to the two ports.
He said the next steps would be opening discussions with the Port of Los Angeles about creation of a San Pedro Bay Maritime Industry Cluster, meeting with U.S. Reps. Alan Lowenthal and Janice Hahn about federal funding opportunities, and partnering with stakeholders such as labor organizations, chambers of commerce and state and local governments.
