“It is crucial that an agreement be reached soon, most importantly for the laborers who have continued to work for more than two years without a contract,” said Sanchez. “Last week I led a letter from the California delegation to the chief negotiators, urging them to take quick action on a resolution. The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach make up the largest port complex in our nation, and having good workers sit idle is hurting our nation’s trade routes. It is my hope that both sides can reach a resolution so our economy can move forward.”
