OHL’s web site reports:

PierPass has advised that its Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) will increase as of August 1st, 2012. The new rates are US$1.50/TEU and $3.00/FEU for containers travelling through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach during the peak hours between 3:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

The annual review of the TMF replaces the original method of a more substantial increase every few years. This will cover most of the 2012-2013 increases to terminal costs, as measured by the increases in ILWU labor costs which are effective from July 1st, 2012.

A more formal press release is to be issued by PierPass shortly.
