Cargill Inc.’s fiscal third-quarter earnings edged up slightly as the agribusiness conglomerate saw revenue rise with strength from its food ingredients and agricultural services businesses.
The privately held U.S. company, which operates businesses ranging from grain handling to energy trading, has scrambled to maintain profits in a volatile market. After reaching record earnings in the last fiscal year ended May 31, Cargill had reported a string of profit declines in the latest fiscal year.
