The Daily News reported:

The longshore union is stepping up pressure to get protesters off the hook for criminal charges stemming from the labor strife at the EGT grain terminal, even accusing Cowlitz County Prosecutor Sue Baur of threatening to harm protesters.

In an email exchange obtained in a public records request, Baur asked Sheriff Nelson if she could “borrow his gun” after he sent her a link to a Facebook page last fall supporting IWLU attempts to recall him from office.

Baur said Tuesday her response about the gun was not intended as a threat; rather, she was making an off-the-cuff statement about putting the gun to her own head out of frustration.
