Omaha-based ConAgra Foods Inc. announced another acquisition Tuesday, saying it has agreed to purchase Del Monte Canada, a producer of branded packaged fruit, fruit snacks, vegetables and Alymer tomato products.
The Del Monte deal, along with the purchase of National Pretzel Co. and ConAgra’s increased stake in Agro Tech Foods Ltd. of India, have been part of an effort to expand the packaged food giant’s global footprint and expand its private label business.
