Longshore workers in Southwest Washington will have to wait to find out whether trespassing charges against them will be dropped.

A judge in the case put off making a decision on Wednesday.

The charges involve a protest in September that blocked a train from entering a grain terminal at the Port of Longview.

Lawyers for the longshore union requested the charges be thrown out. They say the longshoremen, and their supporters, were exercising their right to assemble on public, port-owned property.
