From KBND, Nov. 3:

The Port of Portland says it has turned away some shipping containers because of concerns that they can explode. 8,000 refrigerated containers were serviced with bad coolant in Vietnam and they could explode or catch fire. Josh Thomas with the Port of Portland: “We’ve had to refuse a couple of containers, but otherwise we’re remaining vigilant, watching for any potential problems. But there have been no fires or incidents.” Thomas thinks rounding up 8000 containers will happen relatively fast. He says ports, longshoremen, the fed and shipping companies are committed to getting this taken care of.
