Turns out the new cargo crane damaged in a Valentine’s Day accident at APM Terminals Virginia isn’t so bad after all.

Repairs are under way, and it should be put in operation with its undamaged sister crane by Dec. 1, if not earlier, port officials said Wednesday.

The incident occurred as the ship that delivered them – the Zhen Hua 24 – was pulling away from a berth. A crane still aboard the ship and bound for a port in Colombia clipped one of APM’s new $9 million cranes, damaging it and the berth.
