Many Ecuadorian organizations have received funds from the U.S. Department of State to destabilize the government of Rafael Correa, according to U.S. writer and researcher Eva Golinger.

Some of those groups are linked to the indigenous movement and receive the funds through agencies USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and the NED (National Endowment for Democracy), Golinger said.

The U.S. writer told the Andes news agency that assembly member Lourdes Tiban of the leftist indigenous party Pachakutik, is part of the Indigenous Enterprise Corporation, an organization that actively receives resources from USAID.

Tiban is a founder of the group, which is advised by a veteran of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Norman Baily, who two years ago headed a U.S. special intelligence mission in Cuba and Venezuela.
