Peruvian airline Star Peru is expanding into the cargo business beyond its niche passenger operations with the purchase of a BAe- 146QT freighter for regional shipping customers.
The Lima-based carrier’s purchase adds some dedicated all-cargo capability to one of Latin America’s fastest growing economies. Peru’s economy expanded 8.8 percent last year and the International Monetary Fund projects 6.6 percent growth this year.
