TraPac's planned expansion

TraPac's planned expansion involves a mitigation trust fund for which six of its seven oversight panel appointments have been filled. Councilwoman Janice Hahn will appoint the seventh.

The Board of Harbor Commissioners on Thursday appointed three people to a panel that will oversee a mitigation trust fund established three years so that the TraPac terminal expansion could move forward at the Port of Los Angeles

The community trust fund was established in April 2008 to appease environmental, labor and neighborhood groups opposed to the expansion of TraPac’s container terminal.

The seventh member of the oversight group will by selected by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who has not yet named an appointee.
