A Japanese company and the U.S. subsidiary of another are proposing to ship tropical vegetable oils to the Port of Hueneme and process them in Oxnard in an operation that would pump $20 million into the local economies each year.

Fuji Oil Col Ltd., based in Osaka, Japan, and New York-based Itochu International, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Itochu Corp., have said they would spend an estimated $30 million to build the required facilities in Ventura County.
