The maiden voyage of a new COSCO container ship was cause for double celebration at the Port of Prince Rupert. Not only was it a chance to celebrate the maiden voyage of a new ship, it was a chance to celebrate the name of the ship.
Representatives of the Port and marine community were on hand at the Fairview terminal to welcome “MV COSCO PRINCE RUPERT”
Don Krusel, President and CEO of the Prince Rupert Port Authority says the naming of the ship after the Port is significant “We are honoured to be recognized in this manner by our partners at COSCO, in particular as they approach their 50th anniversary.”
