Pasha Hawaii's ConRo ship will carry autos and containers.
Pasha Hawaii plans to carry containers and vehicles on a new ship it expects to begin using in 2013.
The company announced the move Tuesday, boosting competition with Matson Navigation and Horizon Lines, the two market leaders in mainland to Hawaii cargo shipping.
The company had previously said its new $144 million vessel would only carry wheeled cargo such as cars and construction equipment that could be driven on to ship decks.
