Lt. Sue Stangl of the Seattle Fire Department said the worker was taking an elevator up to the operator’s cab at the top of the gantry crane when the elevator stopped about 80 feet up and wouldn’t budge.

Firefighters responded to the scene and were able to bring the man down with a ladder. The worker was uninjured.

Stangl later said the elevator became stuck due to an electrical malfunction. The problem was fixed and the man is now back at work.
