House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi used a weekend return to San Francisco to call for more investments in the nation’s ports and other infrastructure as a way to create jobs.
“Unless we invest in infrastructure, dredging, etcetera, we’re missing the boat. We are missing the boat, literally and figuratively, on what we can do,” Pelosi said.
But the former speaker of the U.S. House claimed that investments that would allow the ports to create even more jobs are being threatened by Republican budget cuts.
