A dispute between the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and Ports of Auckland which flared late last year appears to have now been resolved.
In a letter to Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), which was reported on the Maritime Union of Australia’s Website in November, ITF maritime co-ordinator Steve Cotton had called for the port to be considered “out of bounds”.
Mr Cotton’s was reacting to the awarding of a contract for on-port container shuttle moves to subsidiary CONLINXX, which saw four port employees offered redeployment or redundancy.
