The Port of Oakland in 2010 reported strong growth in containerized imports and in total container volume, and a slight decrease in exports. Although exports declined 1.3 percent from 2009, the export volume in 2010 was the second highest ever at the Northern California port.
According to statistics published on the port’s Web site, containerized imports last year increased 14.5 percent over 2009, and the total container volume including imports, exports and empties, increased 13.9 percent.
