A large international shipping terminal on Pier E is close to wrapping up 25 years of operations in the Port of Long Beach as owners move the outfit to neighboring Los Angeles.
The move, expected to be complete by (last) Saturday, has left 95 acres of prime waterfront real estate mostly vacant just south of the Gerald Desmond Bridge.
The move comes as Long Beach begins work on a massive $750million redevelopment of the port’s middle harbor area, which includes the recently vacated land.
