Mexico’s seaborne traffic is booming and this has set the stage for the return to the table of the mega-port project, Punta Colonet.

Delayed for some time, the project involves large infrastructure works, such as the building of rail lines which can handle containers. However, it now seems that this is the right time to go ahead. Participating in a national port and operator’s meeting Mr Molinar said the country has seen a 30% growth since the 2009 crisis. “I think we’re on the right track to put Mexico on the logistics platform,” he concluded.
