While critics worry that John Wolfe will simply maintain status quo because he has worked for the port since 2005, Wolfe said those concerns don’t bother him because he knows what he has to do to be successful. … What Wolfe doesn’t necessarily need to “re-set” are his relationships with other entities that are important to the port, like its current customers, local cities, the Puyallup Tribe, and International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 23.
Wolfe said he also hopes to reach out more to the railroad operators because that mode of transportation is key to the port’s success.
