The largest corn shipment in the history of the Port of Grays Harbor departed for Saudi Arabia this month, carrying a record 47,000 metric tons of U.S. No. 2 Yellow Corn, the port announced in a news release.

Not only was it the largest dry bulk shipment in the port’s history but also the first export to Saudi Arabia for the port. The corn shipment was part of the port’s relationship with Ag Processing Inc., the largest farmer-owned soybean processor in the world. It is owned by more than 200,000 farmers in 16 U.S. states. The cooperative has been exporting product through the Port of Grays Harbor since 2003.
