The Cargill Corporation and a group of Risoil companies plan to set up a joint venture on the territory of the Illichivsk port in the Ukraine. According to preliminary estimate, the minimum capacity of the new grain terminal can make up about 2 million tons/year and on condition that a facility for transshipment of the vegetable oil is constructed its capacity can additionally amount to 1 million tons/year. The preliminary term of putting the facility into operation is 2013. On the territory of the Illichivsk port the grain terminal functions with 4 million tons/year capacity. Another facility processing 2 million tons/year is within the port’s water area. In addition, a facility for vegetable oil transshipment of 1.5 million tons/year capacity functions on the port’s territory. The Illichivsk Maritime Trade Port is among the four largest Ukrainian ports. It has production capacities that allow transshipping over 30 million tons of cargo a year.
