Maersk ship

In the latest sign of a rebound in world trade, Danish shipper and port operator A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S and Dubai-based ports operator DP World Wednesday reported higher profits and said they expect the improvement to continue as long as the global economy doesn’t take a turn for the worse.

Maersk, which owns Maersk Line, the world’s biggest container-shipping company, raised its earnings expectations for the second time in as many months, as demand and freight rates continued to rise. It’s now expecting a net profit of over $4 billion this year.
