Port of Los Angeles

Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles has been awarded the designation ‘Climate Action Leader’ by the California Climate Action Registry following its 2009 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission inventory.

This is the second time the port has been awarded the designation. In 2008 it became the first port to receive the designation which recognises efforts to protect, encourage and promote early actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Los Angeles was the first port in the country to include impacts of greenhouse gases in Environmental Impact Report (EIR) documents. GHG analysis is now standard in Port EIR documents.
