A proposal to bring a shipyard to the Port of Los Angeles is still on the table, after the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners supported a three-week extension to allow Gambol Industries to respond to staff reports on the project.
Gambol advocates asked the commission to delay a vote, and wait for the Port of Long Beach’s decision on whether it will accept dirt from the Gambol project for its $750 million Middle Harbor Project.
The issue will be addressed again at the Aug. 19 Board of Harbor Commissioners meeting.
