Longshoremen unloaded 1,811 Hyundai and Kia cars today, from the first of seven ships scheduled to arrive from South Korea this month at Packer Avenue marine terminal in South Philadelphia.

The cars are headed for delivery via truck and possibly rail to dealers throughout the United States.

The new business, which is expected to bring 100 new ships to the Port of Philadelphia, is expected to generate 276 jobs locally and 415 jobs regionally.
