Officials at the Port of Vancouver in Vancouver, Wash., announced today they have completed the Terminal 5 Unit Train Improvement project.

The completed project adds 35,000 feet of new rail capacity to the port’s recently developed terminal, Terminal 5. It will help accommodate rail service for a variety of cargoes and help decrease congestion on the main rail line by an estimated 25 percent. Trains as long as 7,500 feet will be able to use the new rail.

Port officials said the project will help in their attempts to attract more private tenants to the port.
