Jerilyn Lopez Mendoza attended her last meeting Wednesday as vice-president of the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners, where she has served for five years.

Lopez Mendoza stepped down from the post to focus on a new full-time job she started last month as a regional manager with the International Council of Local Environmental Issues.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa appointed Lopez Mendoza to the five-member commission in 2005. The Mayor’s Office did not return a phone call Wednesday inquiring whether a search was underway for Lopez Mendoza’s replacement.
