A draft lease for Westerlund Log Exports use of pier three will be presented to the Port of Astoria commission next week. A lease for pier one was previously affirmed. The state needs to sign off on the port’s new strategic business plan, which includes use of pier three for part of the log export venture.
Fencing, paving and striping will help identify boundaries for the log export venture. The log yard will actually be able to be locked down with those improvements.
