Rising log and grain exports to Asia boosted Port of Longview revenue 27 percent in the first quarter of 2010, as the port showed it could thrive without wind energy imports.

The port reported Tuesday that it pulled in $7.3 million in revenue during the first three months of the year, up from the $5.8 million in the first quarter of 2009. The port’s total operating income, minus expenses, for the quarter was just over $1 million, up 29 percent over the same quarter last year.
