The US west coast could soon be home to a new fuel hub as the Port of Long Beach, California, beckons proposals for the development of its Pier Echo terminal site. The Port wants to hear from companies interested in growing the use of renewable fuels, marine liquid bulk petroleum products and crude oil.
The port says there is a need for additional marine crude oil and petroleum products infrastructure to ensure that future demand will not outstrip capacity. The lease will include environmental compliance requirements under the 2006 San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP), and any subsequent updates to the CAAP, the Port commented.
